AndyW 11/2004:
These are great but I'll be honest....not the perfect solution.
What Chewy has come up with is the best compromise and for most of
us that's exactly what we want as the perfect solution would require
blocks/spacers of at least twice the size and they would look awful.
These fit really well and are reasonably unobtrusive so rear
visibility is improved but not at the expense of spoiling the looks
of the bike...a good balance between form and function. (See
some testimonials below)

No need for instructions
for this job!......just a couple of tips: 1) Use a
small fine flat bladed screw driver to prize the caps off the mirror
retaining bolts 2) Chances are that the rubber gasket
between the mirror mount and the fairing will have become stuck to
the fairing...a bit off careful 'wiggling' is all that's required to
free it 3) Not essential but a spare pair of hands to
hold the new spacers and mirror mount in place nice and square while
you do up the retaining bolts, is a good idea.

I have seen very similar items available elsewhere but unlike
Chewy's version there was no recess for the rubber block on the
mirror bracket so you have to pull that off, probably resulting in
more vibrations through the mirror stem. And of course....they were
more expensive! Couple of
the many testamonials:
ginja1000: Well the mirror
blocks fit perfect in about 5 mins, they look as though they have
always been there and rear visibility is a BIG improvement, good
quick fix for a problem i have been looking to resolve since I got
the SV was going to go with the triumph mirrors off the Daytona but
this was a much simpler solution considering the triumph mirrors are
about £100 quid odd cheers chewy top stuff
Robbo:
Fitted them this morning, they look pretty good, but its more of a
functional mod than a styling thing. Definitely see more in the
mirrors now, and didn't take one off doing my usual extreme
filtering on the way through London.
RogFog: Arrived yesterday and fitted last night.
Nicely made piece of kit and took all of 2 minutes each to fit.
Just ridden to work and back 50 miles along single and dual
carriageways and the M27.
These make a big difference - no more having to try to peek through
the gap between arm and body, or having to lift my arm clear of the
bars to see behind me as all it takes now is a quick glimpse in the
mirror with the smallest of head movements.
Certainly easily worth the money for the improvement you get !
I would imagine for those who are not as, errm - how do I put this
... "wide" as me, the improvement would be even better.
Top job Chris (once again). AndyW..........and a
