For any of you that have stripped out the upper windscreen screws I
found that there's room to place a nut in the meter panel to cure
the problem.

The lower four screws use expandable threaded fasteners but the
upper two screws are sheet-metal type that thread directly into the
plastic meter panel (crappy design ). Anyway there is room for a nut
under the upper mounting location. I fixed a 10-24 nut with a nylon
insert there using silicone sealer instead of epoxy in case I want
to remove it later. This method secures the windscreen much better
especially after the threads get a little loose. A while back I read
a post from WarpSpeed who uses two different height screens for
different climate conditions. If you switch out your screens
frequently its only a matter of time before those threads get
stripped.
