Increase the storage area under your seat with this simple idea.
I have a genuine Suzuki seat cowl so this may not work all other
manufactures products. 1) Dismantle the
components of the pillion seat cowl as shown in the photo below
(5 10mm bolts to undo)

2) Take two strips of rubber I used some thin butyl liner that
I had left over from my pond project. (Never throw anything away!)
approx 165mm long by 20mm wide. Punch out a hole at each end.
Find yourself 3 M6 penny washers which you'll use to stop the rubber
tearing.

3) Reassemble everything as shown below

Now you can slide your tool kit under the new retaining straps!
I recommend you place it with the popper facing the plastic seat
cowl then there is little risk of the tools spilling out.

- "genious!..........until I put the seat back on and forget my tool
kit!
Great idea for those with permanent seat cowls on though."
Chewy22 - "Doesn't have to be
tools, anything else that will fit in there ;-)"
Redmond1502 - "Great idea. I
might fashion a variation using a block of dense foam with cutouts
to hold my cellphone or digital camera."
INCREASE UNDERSEAT STORAGE part 2 I have an
Ermax under tray fitted to my bike that gives me more room under the
seat but there is one small drawback you have to cut the original
plastics to make it fit leaving a hole or slot at the bottom [SEE
PIC] for things to fall out if you are not careful.
To solve this I got my self one of those cool bags the size of about
3 cans of coke to slide into the space allowing me to drop anything
into it and no risk of anything rubbing against my Scottoiller and
inadvertently adjusting the flow of oil or chaffing wires. Its also
waterproof which is one extra bonus.
Edit=AndyW: take note of the warning re accidental adjustment
of Scottoiler oil flow! - it happened to me, tool kit moving around
cranked the adjuster up to full! Back tyre soaked in oil.....I
only got away without mishap by luck!
