AndyW - 2003 SV1000S (Bought new Mar2003)

Update Apr2005 - The photos are a bit out of date now....as soon as we have the right
weather I'll post some new ones (I've updated my 'mods' list below meantime)

The bike had it's 2nd birthday on 23rd March and has covered more than 11,000 miles but still
looks like new (better in some respects!) due to my over zealous care and maintenance ;-)

Leo Vinci (Also known as Leo Vince) Titanium Cans
When I bought the bike at the end of March 2003 there were absolutely no aftermarket parts for the SV but I struck lucky when my Dealer offered me a great deal on these TLR cans. They had been ordered in specially for another customer who'd never collected them.  Excellent quality and sound great without being obnoxious.

I love the 'understated look' and the absence of bloody great badges that many manufacturers insist on riveting to the sides!

Rad Guard
Essential equipment in my book but after numerous enquiries I was aware that there was not going to be anything on the market for months....too late for me.  So out with a few sheets of cardboard, a pencil and tape measure and the AndyW DIY rad guard was conceived.

Took the template round to a local metal fabrication business and the next day I had this (they opened up the oil cooler surround and inserted the same mesh in that for me as well)....sprayed with silver UHT/VHT paint and fitted.  £30 plus the cost of the paint. Not as slick as the guards you can buy now but I kinda like the look and it works well so I've stuck with it...no overheating.

Art Evolution Carbon/Alloy Hugger
More essential equipment and the same problem....so I bought this TLR hugger and after several installs and removals I finally 'rearranged' the mounts to fit the SV.

Classy looking bit of kit but the alloy needs regular polishing to keep the finish.  The alloy bits are available anodised but I like the polished metal look.

The Art Evo hugger has gone now, replaced by a Pyramid Plastics GRP hugger - the Art looked slick but being a fastideous bastard I was never happy with the not quite perfect fit due to it being a TLR modified item.  I'd have gone and bout the SV version but cash is tight and I had a kind offer of the Pyramid hugger from Simon.W.  I've made my own stainless steel mounting bracket for the right side instead of the rather ugly affair that Pyramid provide. Photo soon!

What do I intend doing:

'Electric blue' neons (to fit in fairing 'air scoops' or under nose)....in course...not sure about this one, may or may not go ahead
Get suspension set up professionally
Top gear indicator - in course (well...planned!) - abandoned!
Paint job if I keep her long enough.......dream on!
