Art that Works!
These High Flow Oil Filters use a Micronic Stainless Steel Mesh.
They offer a permanent solution to your bikes oil filter needs.

Unique Design, Top Quality Materials and Construction:

The filter element is made from laser cut, medical grade, type 304 stainless steel micronic filter cloth to provide unmatched protection against oil contamination and resultant engine damage. A one inch square of this material flows an incredible 1.9 gallons of oil per minute at only 1 PSI pump pressure. The adhesive used in the filter assembly process is good to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, far above normal engine operating temperatures. A super strength nickel-plated neodymium rare earth magnet is installed in the top of the element for magnetic pre-filtering of the oil. The Spirol Lok retaining ring assures positive filter element placement and allows for disassembly, inspection and cleaning. The washable filter element is easily cleaned at each oil change with solvent, kerosene, aerosol carburetor cleaner, or any other degreasing agent, even common dish soap. The quad-ring gasket doubles the seal between the filter and the engine. Finally, the filter housing is carved out of a solid chunk of 6061T6 billet aluminum, which not only looks trick but aids in dissipating heat. Manufactured by K&P Engineering, trading since 1969 - the first stainless steel filter designs dating back to 1995.

Technical information / Q & A

Charlie Busa says "There has been a recent redesign of the cups, again. Each time they get better. The earlier redesign added a hex to the cup design and included a metal cup 3/8" drive wrench. The latest design eliminates the spiral locking ring and works great.
The filters look great, are re-usable, offer consistent filtration, allow easy inspection of filter debris and are safer for the environment. You'd expect me to sing the praises of these oil filters as I sell them but that aside and in all honesty, they are a superb quality product that offer superior filtering to conventional oil filters."

"I'm frequently asked about the filtering performance of the 'mesh' filter elements. The particle size stopped by conventional element filters is based on a multi pass testing procedure giving a false impression of their performance. They will eventually trap particles as small as 10 microns (some list even smaller) depending on whether the particle hits a fiber or not. The best of the paper filters will allow particles as large as 56 microns to pass through, the lower quality paper element filters will allow particles up to 300 microns to pass through. The stainless filter screen has an absolute rating of 35 microns, the mesh is not nearly as random as a paper element. For more information please see the Q&A"

"My SV1000 now has 6100 miles on it and has had the filter mounted since the first service. We run the filters on all of our bikes. Triumph Speed Triple (12,000-14,000 miles on filter), ZX-11 (4000 miles on filter), SV650 Race Bike (2 years on filter), Laverda Strike (12,000 miles on filter - recently sold).

"I have shipped the filters pretty much world wide, so overseas orders are not a problem."

Update Sept 2005 by AndyW:

I've had one of these fitted for a couple of months now, the finish is excellent - I'll post an update when I've done the next oil change, photos of the used filter element etc. Photo with oil cooler off for a cleanup and re-spray (yes......I'd polished up the exhaust header again!)
