Went for my first multi day trip on the SV and all I can say is that it is perfect for SPORT touring. .

Day one consisted of leaving Moscow and driving to Winthrop WA, nothing too exciting but had some pretty cool views, here are a couple of shots.

Oh yeah, did have a run in with a couple of Harleys. Pretty sure I am in the right but who knows. Here is the story. Follow these two guys on Harleys for like 10 miles behind a slow car, was waiting my turn to pass and the Harley guys never passed so after a while I decide, they must be just wantin' to put put along so I passed them and the car. Get up ahead a bit and come along two cars, one following the other really close so I wait for the one following to pass. He does and just as I decide to pass, the two Harleys scream by me. Thank god I checked my mirrors before passing and I was thinking why in the hell did they finally decide to get moving and why didn't they take their turn for the pass. Kind of pissed me off, maybe I just don't like getting passed by Harleys either I don't know. Any way, I passed them back but I waited for a corner to do so!

Spent two days at Winthrop, then rode over the North Cascades to Lake Stevens, beautiful scenery but lots of traffic. Well worth it though. Here are some pics.......

Day three was riding from Lake Stevens to port Angeles. It rained the WHOLE time. I stopped to buy my ferry ticket, turned off the bike, bought the ticket, turned the key on, hit the ignition, and NOTHING.. Try it again, check the kill switch and still nothing. Wont start, I am like shit, I am in the rain and the bike won't start. Had to wait over an hour for the ferry to take off so I start to try and figure out what the problem is. I push my bike to the front of the line where two other motorcycle guys are there. They happen to have two vintage motorcycles, Vincents from 1942. Really cool bikes. They help me for like an hour and we can't figure it out. So we "hot wired' my bike and I rode it to Port Angeles. I go to the Suzuki dealer there and they are like, well, we can look at it but we can't get parts for at least 3 days....I ride it to my wives' parents house, let it sit for awhile and and sure enough, it started right up. Must have been the rain, didn't take any pictures due to the crappy rain.

Fourth day consisted of riding down 101 next to Hood canal to Olympia south to 12 east and over to Yakima. Rain was threatening the whole time but I had a nice ride along 101 and over the cascades. Here is a picture of Rimrock lake going over white pass. Climbing the pass was really fun with high speed sweepers and no traffic.

Last day was a quicky, 200 mile ride home from Yakima. All in all, I must say this bike is PERFECT for SPORT touring. You can ride it for a good amount of time to get to some nice roads, then, when you get to those sought after twisties, there is no remorse for what kind of bike you have, it flat out is a blast in the corners as all of you know.

By the way, do you guys go through tires fast? Jeez, I have only had the bike since August of this year and I already need a third rear tire, what gives....?
